A Quaker’s Promise: Isaiah Carroll
When Isiah Carrol decided to transfer to Blair Academy, it wasn’t a random move, It was intentional. A fresh start, a new challenge, and a chance to be part of something bigger than himself.
“ I transferred to Blair because I had seen how well the team played last year, and after speaking with Coach Mantegna and Coach DeJesus, I knew this was the place I wanted to be”, Carrol said.
Now part of one of the nation’s top prep programs, Carroll has two clear goals: win and connect.
”On the court, I want to win a championship with this team. Off the court I’m excited to meet new people and build friendships”, he said.

Finding His way
Carroll didn’t grow up in a basketball family, his dad was a swimmer, his mom an executive producer. But his curiosity and dedication brought him to the game.
”I’ve only been playing for four years, so I’m just scratching the surface. There’s so much room to grow, and I’m ready for it,” he said.
Despite his relative newness, Carroll’s talent and work ethic have already made him a key player.

All In at Blair
Blair isn’t just about basketball, it’s a tight knit academic community. Carroll embraced it fully.
”My goal is to dive in, both on the team and in the school community,” he said. “ And with Blair being such a small community, I’ve already felt closer to everyone here”
A fun fact? Carroll is left handed, but on the court he surprises everyone with his right hand.

Border League Success
Carol’s first major test with Blair was the Border League tournament, one of the country’s most competitive prep events. Confident in his team, he said:
“I’ve always loved competing here. Our team has top talent, and I want to keep winning traditions alive.”
Blair went undefeated, taking down national-level players and proving Carroll’s confidence was well placed.

The Promise
For Carroll, this first year at Blair is about purpose, presence and growth. From a self-made start in basketball to competing on a national stage, he’s living out what he calls his “early” days in the game.
But “early doesn’t mean unprepared. Isaiah Carrol is ready and this Quaker’s promise is just beginning.
