A Touch of Green

While others walked with hurried strides,
they ignored a beauty reserved aside,
a little grass charges upward,
rendering the pitch with trifling greenish flecks.

In its world of stone and concrete gray,
the little grass ventured to have its say.
Strutting the thin fissure’s edges,
it defied the odds with a stubborn pledge.

Its delicate but mighty roots clung to life,
sucking nature’s milk to thrive.
Rocking in raindrops and embracing the sun,
it flourished in the most unbelievable space.

Through changing seasons and passing years,
the little grass stood tall with no fears.
So let us pause, admire, and ponder,
for in the smallest of being, a miracle grew greater…
