April 2, 2024 was revisit day at Blair Academy. On revisit day, new incoming students come to campus to experience what Blair life is like. On this day, more than 100 new students visited campus to join current students in the classroom, dining hall, and Dubois Theater for school meeting. Revisit day is a good way for new members of the community to make the decision of whether or not they want to attend Blair Academy next year. They also get a chance to meet other new students before the start of the next school year. Revisit day happened a second time on Friday and the next generation of students looks promising!
I have asked current Blair Academy students about their revisit day experience. Senior and faculty student Jack Gerdsen said: “Despite the weather, I think the day overall was great and they hopefully got a taste of Blair life.”
Sophomore Cat Zhang said: “It was absolutely delightful to meet and greet the new generation of Blair Bucs!” And freshman Ayden Zosche mentioned, “the revisit kids enjoyed the tour.” Every student had a great time during revisit day here and meeting new students was a great experience.
I have also asked some faculty members about their revisit day experience. Admissions faculty member Mrs. Antonelli said: “Revisit days always remind me why I love it here! Blair has so much to offer our new students but it is the community that is always the star of the day. Even with pouring rain and an earthquake, our students and faculty always make the revisit days great.”
English teacher Mrs. Queally said: “Revisit day is always such a fun way to ring in spring! Everyone–students and faculty alike–is so excited to welcome the new faces and get a chance to talk to our visitors and hopefully convince them to come to Blair. Whether you just had a grueling test the day before or were stuck grading all night, suddenly everyone I talk to is only capable of bragging about how much they love this school.”
In conclusion, this year’s revisit day was a very valuable experience, both to current students and incoming students. Revisit day happens only twice per year and it is a great way to introduce students to their new school. New students seemed to have only positive things to say about our school, and the entire Blair community is excited to see these new students begin learning at our school.
