Spring Sports Are Here!

Hello Bucs, after wrapping up an action-packed winter term of athletics, spring sports are carrying the energy right into this season! Make sure to get out to see our esteemed sports team in the beautiful spring weather which is on its way soon. For this article, I reached out to our knowledgeable head coaches to see what they had to say. I gave them one question to help build hype for the last weeks of school. I asked, can you highlight one aspect of your team that might excite Bucs fans for the upcoming season? Here were their generous responses.

Mr. Gerdsen – Head Boys Tennis Coach

“Many of the boys’ tennis matches are home this year and with a highly talented and deep squad this year, look for us to dominate the MAPLs!”

Mr. Redos – Head Girls Crew Coach

“One exciting aspect of our women’s rowing team this season is the recent success of our training camp in Chula Vista, CA, which was one of the best we’ve had during my time here. What excites me the most is the depth and commitment shown by the team as we gear up for what promises to be an exhilarating season. Regardless of the outcomes, the contagious positive culture and camaraderie within the team are truly remarkable. Historically, maintaining a positive mindset towards hard work has consistently led us to achieve impressive results in our boats.”

Mr. Clavel – Head Girls Golf Coach

“After graduating a strong group of seniors and having four solid seasons with them, I’m excited to work with the younger group of players who will step into the starting line up. That said, we still have an experienced core of returning upperclassmen that include Jass Sanchez, Serrena Khanna, Aria Goswami, and Apple Wu to lead the team. Go Bucs!”

Mr. Thornton – Head Boys/Girls Track & Field Coach

“Our large team is excited to kick off the season with meets at Peddie and Lawrenceville. We have a lot of returners but some new faces that joined the program this season to help us on the track. At the end of April, we will compete at the elite Penn Relays Carnival in Philadelphia. Come cheer us on at our home meet & senior day on Saturday, April 20th.”

Ms. Conforti-Browse – Head Softball Coach

“We are a well-balanced team, so many players will be headliners this season!”

Overall, it is clear to see why so many people are excited for this spring sports season. One message that all of these coaches have in common is to go out and support your friends and fellow classmates. Go Bucs!
