Under the Lights: Hun

Saturday night, October 10th, The Hun School came to Blair for an intense football game. The game started at 7:00PM and drew a large number of Bucs fans. It was a nail-biting performance of athletic prowess from both sides. Some significant plays included a forced and recovered fumble by Alfred Dorbor (‘16), an interception by Jake Groves (‘17), a touchdown by Kyle Phipps (‘16), and an interception returned for a touchdown by Chase Singletary (‘17). Jake Groves remarked after the game: “We gave it our all and displayed excellent sportsmanship, that’s what matters.”

Hun won the game with a final score of 28-12. Blair’s record so far this season is 3-1.

Despite the unfortunate turnout of the game, many of Blair’s students and fans endured the chilly Saturday night to watch the game.“It was the most riveting sports event I’ve seen yet!” Jamie Phelan (‘17) stated afterwards. The student section was packed and exceptionally loud; cheers led by Andra Espinoza-Hunter (‘17), Josh Walker (‘16), and Robert Clayton (‘16) kept everyone standing and on edge throughout the game, and thankfully there was hot apple cider and donuts keeping the spectators warm and happy throughout the event.

One thing is for sure, everyone is looking forward to the next big game… Go Bucs!
