In today’s show we have the pleasure of speaking with Nishta J. Mehra, author of Brown White Black: An American Family at the Intersection of Race, Gender, Sexuality, and Religion. Ms. Mehra is the first-generation daughter of Indian immigrants; her wife, Dr. Jill Carroll, is white; and her adopted child, Shiv, is Black. In Brown White Black, she paints a portrait of her family through essays on motherhood, marriage, love and acceptance.
