Softball: Strike Out Cancer

Girl’s Varsity softball hosted their annual “Strike Out Cancer” game Monday. The game was a success in more ways than one: not only did Blair beat Belvidere nine-to-one, but a substantial amount of support and funding was raised to help with the battle against cancer. Specifically, the battle being fought by Ryan Magnusson. Ryan is the daughter of a former Blair student, and we’re happy to be supporting her and the rest of the Magnusson family.

A generous donor offered to give money for each spectator that watched the game. The total surpassed an impressive 300 people, all of whom came to show their support. All these people made for an optimistic atmosphere that was enhanced by the bake sale and beautiful weather. It was wonderful to see the school come together once again to have fun while doing good. We wish Ryan and her family the best of luck as they combat this terrible disease.
