Patrick Plum ‘21 is a junior at Blair Academy with little swimming background, but has been a team favorite throughout this 2019-2020 season. Patrick has been competing in the 50 and 100-meter freestyle. Even if you do not know Patrick personally, but just see him around Blair’s campus, you know that he loves to break normal fashion culture with tie-dye and neon colors. Many of his friends would say Patrick’s style matches his personality. Patrick has also only agreed to do this interview if The Oracle promoted his personal clothing line by adding the link to his website.
Emma Rose van der Veen: As a new member of the swim team, what made you love being a part of Blair Varsity Swimming?
Patrick Plum: I love how loving and caring everyone on my team is. I love the support and the honest and positive energy of my coaches at all times. Whenever I am having a bad day, I’m like “yo, I’m having a bad day” they’ll just support me.
ERV: What are you looking forward to this season?
PP: I mean it’s over… so, I guess it being over.
ERV: What is your favorite thing about the swim team?
PP: The people. It used to be seeing Emma van der Veen every day but she quit. So I guess just Ms. Wilson being a real homie.
ERV: What is your personal goal as a swimmer this year?
PP: I had a goal of swimming sub-30 and I met that goal so I am extremely happy about my results this season. Whaddup! This season has made me feel super cash money.
