Noam Klip’s TV Show Recommendations

With everything available nowadays, it can be difficult to find the perfect TV show that shifts your attention away from real life and into a state of complete distraction. Sometimes a show is so good that it can turn even the most driven people into procrastinators. There are so many options that finding a show can often be stressful. This leads to people rewatching the same thing over and over again. Although that can be entertaining, there are so many things out there that sometimes leaving your comfort zone is worth it in the end. Here are some shows that are worth a look:

The Good Place

Eleanor Shellstrop just passed away, and she’s surprised that her spirit went to the “Good Place” rather than the “Bad Place.” Spirits in the Good Place live in specially designed neighborhoods with a small group of others. Michael is the architect of Eleanor’s neighborhood. All spirits are paired with soulmates, and Eleanor’s is a Senagalese ethicist named Chidi Anagonye. The entire situation is meant to be a paradise for the residents, but this Eleanor Shellstrop is not the Eleanor Shellstrop Michael believes her to be. The Eleanor we are following was selfish and self-absorbed, an attitude she takes with her into the Good Place. The first season follows her as she attempts to learn how to be a good person while avoiding detection so she can stay in paradise.

The Office

This mockumentary follows the everyday lives of the manager and employees he “manages” at a mediocre paper company in Scranton, PA. The crew follows branch manager Michael Scott and his employees around 24/7 and captures their quite humorous and bizarre encounters as they do what it takes to keep their company thriving.

Rick and Morty

Rick Sanchez, a depressed, alcoholic, abusive madman– who also happens to be a genius scientist with the ability to travel through dimensions– returns to his daughter Beth’s life after two decades of being gone. He finds her married to an incompetent man named Jerry, and the couple have two teenage kids. Summer, the oldest girl, is a rebellious teen trying to be popular at school, and Morty, the youngest child, is an anxious, quiet, sweet boy. Rick makes Morty his sidekick and takes him on hilarious interdimensional adventures, which causes poor Morty to become steadily more miserable due to Rick’s insane, abusive, careless attitude.

Friends

Rachel Green, Ross Geller, Monica Geller, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Phoebe Buffay are six 20-somethings living in the heart of New York City. Over the course of ten seasons, this group of friends goes through mayhem, family troubles, romances, weddings, divorces, unexpected children, fights, laughs, tears, and surprises. A hilarious, amazing, and timeless story unfolds as they learn what it really means to be friends.

Stranger Things

After the mysterious and sudden vanishing of a young boy named Will, the people of Hopkins, Indiana, begin to uncover the secrets of a government lab, portals to another world, and sinister monsters. The boy’s mother, Joyce, desperately tries to find him, convinced he is in grave danger, and the police chief searches for answers. While trying to help find him, the boy’s friends discover a strange girl who calls herself Eleven and is on the run from “bad men.” The boys and Eleven work hard to try to find Will and keep the town safe from the “bad men” and monsters.

Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl (an anonymous blogger that spreads gossip about the main characters) leads you through the over-priced, upper class lives of Manhattan’s elite. Blair Waldorf is a self-described schemer who has had her whole future mapped out since she was 10. Serena van der Woodsen, her beautiful best friend, is unsure of where life will take her. Throughout the show, their friendship is tested multiple times. Nate Archibald is a descendent of the Vanderbilts, but wants to leave his family legacy behind and follow his own path. Chuck Bass is the manipulative player and son of a powerful father. Dan Humphrey, a Brooklyn-based teen, who wants to make it in the world as a writer, rounds out the crew. You see their love interests, fashion, family fights, not-so-friendly squabbles, and weddings over an exciting 6-season story.

Grey’s Anatomy

Grey’s is a long-running medical drama centered around Meredith Grey, an aspiring surgeon, and the daughter of one of the best surgeons in the world, Dr. Ellis Grey. Throughout the series, Meredith goes through professional and personal challenges along with her fellow surgeons at Seattle Grace Hospital. Meredith faces multiple life threatening situations that put her and her friends lives in perspective.

Riverdale

The quiet little town of Riverdale is turned upside down after the death of teenager Jason Blossom. Archie and his friends experience the struggles of everyday life in a small town while taking on the case. When Veronica Lodge rolls into town, she quickly befriends Archie, Betty, and Jughead. In order to solve this mystery, the group of friends must unlock the truth that lies buried deep beneath the surface in their hometown, even examining their parents. Riverdale is not as innocent as it appears to be.

You can find all of these shows on Netflix.

There are so many incredible shows out there. Some are full of drama, others romance. There is something out there for everyone. These are just a few shows that are worth taking a look at.
