Evelyn is a three-year junior from Newton, New Jersey. With her love for writing and reading, it is no surprise that Evelyn has been a part of The Oracle since her freshman year at Blair.
Evelyn enjoys making art in and outside of her classes, and her favorite art medium is painting. Painting with Mr. Thomas has been her favorite class this year because she was able to explore new techniques like “color theory, monochromatic painting, value, different types of paints, and brush strokes” and apply them to her own work.
Evelyn is an artist who explores diverse mediums, and does not limit herself to the field of 2D design: she also enjoys making music. Although she recently stopped taking piano lessons, which she had taken since she was young, Evelyn still enjoys practicing the piano by herself as a hobby. A piece that she really enjoys playing is “Arabesque, L.66: No. 1” by Claude Debussy.
During her free time, Evelyn also enjoys listening to music of different genres as well as watching action and fantasy movies. Some of her favorites are Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel movies, and Lord of the Rings.
As an experienced writer for The Oracle, Evelyn enjoys writing about various topics including “movies, books, plants, art, food, and current events at Blair.” Evelyn notes that she loves how working on The Oracle enables her to “explore many different areas of interest and be creative.” She is excited to continue being a part of this great team and she looks forward to writing more articles.
