Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball claim 2016 MAPL Championships

The Blair Academy Boys’ Basketball team won their second straight MAPL (Mid-Atlantic Prep League) championship on Sunday. It was a “total team effort,” said Coach Mantegna.

The Bucs defeated Hun on Saturday as junior guard Matt Turner led the way with 19 points. On Sunday, Blair defeated Lawrenceville to claim “back to back” MAPL titles.

Quint Clarke and his Blair Academy Girls’ Basketball team won their sixth straight MAPL title on Sunday with a convincing 63-56 win over Mercersburg.

Yes, you heard that correctly, sixth straight! On Saturday, the Bucs completely dominated Peddie 73-39 to advance to the finals. On Tuesday, Blair beat Rutgers Prep, led by Katie Douglas ‘18 and Andra Hunter ‘17 snapping their undefeated record and No. 1 ranking in New Jersey. Blair looks forward as they will compete for a state championship.

Congratulations Bucs, on winning 2016 MAPL championships!

Thank you to Coach Mantegna and Coach Clarke for another fantastic season. Well done!
