The Blair Academy Players present Almost, Maine by John Cariani on May 14, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert J. Evans Open Air Theatre. In case of inclement weather, the play will take place in the Dubois Theater, Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. No reservations will be taken.
The most popular high school play in America, Almost, Maine is set in a fictitious town that just barely exists. As a character in the play explains, “we never got around to getting organized. So it’s just…Almost.” Nine scenes take place on a cold, clear Friday night, in the middle of winter, under the northern lights. In each scene, the subject is love—new, renewed, lost, found, or broken.
The cast of veterans and newcomers includes Alex Roberts, Robyn Epstein, Malcolm Biggins, Lucy Drinkwater, Dan Kim, Jenna Faust, Siena Tipton, Emily Lunger, Kendall Slocum, Lizzie Devlin, Connor O’Neill, Ty Cotton, Andrew Parsons, Chris Bottone, Tiffany Sharma, Corinne DiFrancesco, Mike Park, Lauren Tung, and Sean Callahan. The student directors are Yueqi Du and Robyn Epstein.
