All That I am

All That I am

April 26

by Mr. Fortunato

Loneliness is a world devoid of innocence.
Like a ghost within a ghost, in the mist,
frightened from all I dreamed of.
When night does fall,
there’s a darkest light consumes us all,
showing pain and dreams I wrought,
for I thought hope and blame live within me.

Lonely, I waited for years in the shadows
while you stood near, guiding me through my tomorrows.
Release me for now,
but be there tomorrow,
for all that I am comes from you.

When the chance stands before us,
hopeful circumstance,
then we’ll finally have the means to be free;
yet if I go, what will become of me?

Help me go,
so we’ll be forever together.
I’m not afraid.
We’ve gone through the worst storms we’ll weather.

Release me for now,
but be there tomorrow,
for all that I comes from you.
